On Wednesday October 14th at 19:30h, the Blueproject Foundation presents the documentary "Bango" by José Ramón Bas and Cinzia Giovanettoni in collaboration with the Foundation Almayuda. A work that shows the actions that are performed in the Espace Jarrot, a welcome center for poor children in the city of Brazzaville in Congo.
"Bango" meaning "they" in Lingala, is presented as the documentation of the different activities and projects being developed at this center through which pass about 400 kids a year.
The documentary focuses on this case in the delivery of video cameras to a group of 4 children, who were in charge of deciding by consensus and without the documentary crew, what and who to record. At the same time, another team from the same school developed an intervention in Espace Jarrot center with painting and other artistic elements.
José Ramón Bas
José Ramón Bas, born in Madrid in 1964, is a photographer working and seeking new forms of expression by intervening directly on the pictures painted by hand and capturing the essence of different places. His work in Cuba in the late 90 earned him numerous international exhibitions and award like Fotopress of la Caixa Foundation and other projects in Brazil and several African countries.
