A silent blue afternoon (after Mary Oliver)

This work is part of a body of work that revolves around
the construction of a pictorial language without the direct
practice of painting. To achieve this, a series of chromatic
twists of dyeing (addition) and bleaching (subtraction)
of the textile material take place. The work reflects the
legacy of Essentialist Minimalism and its commitment to
the potential of radically reducing forms to emphasize the
structural and primary properties inherent in the original
fabric. The pattern of horizontal lines of different colors
repeated throughout the support combines with the dye
stains resulting from the work’s production process. In
this sense, the reductive impulse is not abandoned, but
rather embraces these sorts of random brushstrokes that are
distributed across the surface.
